What is Therapy?

There’s a great book written by the psychologist Dr. Bruce D. Perry and Oprah titled What Happened To You? It’s a profound book that explores just that: what happened to make me like this?

In a nutshell, therapy is all about gaining clarity on this question. Not so we can assign blame on a poorly skilled parent or the play the victim even if we were, in actuality, the victim of a horrific crime or abuse. It’s about understanding what happened to you so you can process these events as part of your story. Not make them the whole story.

Through therapy, we delve into the complexities of your life, from difficult emotions and actions to problems in relationships.

I believe that healing happens when we recognize patterns and gain insight into ourselves. It's about developing better communication skills, learning to express your feelings in healthy ways, and managing the unique challenges that come with mental health.

I am here to support you every step of the way. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can truly be yourself, knowing that your well-being is our top priority. Together, we work towards enhancing your overall wellness, empowering you to lead a more joyful and fulfilling life.
